Beautiful Fall Day

It was a perfect fall day today - 60 degrees, not a cloud in the sky. The kids and I took a walk around the block, which we often do and I am so sad that we probably won't be able to do for a few months soon. I'm so not ready for winter!

Anyway, I was determined to enjoy the weather while it lasts. I took the camera so I could play with it and hopefully get some good pictures. I figured a few things out on it, which I was excited about.

We stopped at one point and the boys threw leaves up in the air.

The boys wanted to make sure that Hannah wasn't left out and covered her with leaves, too. I think Marshall did most of it. She's so patient and she loves being outside - she didn't seem to mind a bit.

We stopped at what we call "The Pinecone Station." It's just a big evergreen tree, but the kids stop there every time we go on a walk and usually pick up a pinecone. There's usually at least a few pinecones in the stroller and in the back of the tricycle. I outlawed them from coming in the house, though.

Then we headed home. We went in the backyard - I had a couple things to do back there before it got too cold, and I wanted the kids to play. Hannah loves her swing and was happy as a clam. Marshall was happy swinging, too - but was a very loud clam and insisted on being pushed almost constantly. I finally made him get down and slide.

Peter saw these pictures and asked, "Where was Spencer?" Well, here he is. Digging in the dirt in our garden. Spencer always seems to like feeling productive and doing work. He's a fantastic helper.

He found a worm and was so proud of himself that he came to show me. And made me look at it wiggling for a long time. I tried not to be too grossed out.

Marshall was very impressed and went over with him to try to find some more.

After a futile search for more worms, Spencer came over and tried to make Hannah laugh. He's so sweet with her and is such a good big brother.

Thank goodness for beautiful fall weather! And for sweet, sweet kids.
