Happy Valentine's Day!

I found this cute idea for Valentine's on pinterest, and so we did these this year for the valentines to give away. Here is an example of Marshall's finished one:

 And Spencer's unfinished one:

I think they turned out very cute and were pretty easy to do. I printed them at Walgreen's, punched two holes in them with my crop-a-dile (it makes smaller holes than a regular hole punch), and the boys were able to put in the suckers. Maybe this will be our new tradition - nice and simple, and it encourages me to use my camera to record something fun. My friend had the idea to print two on a sheet, which will make it a little cheaper to print them out. I think it's fun to have their picture on it.

Spencer got sick on Sunday and stayed home from school on Monday, but was well enough to go to school for his Valentine's party on Tuesday. Marshall, however, threw up at 2:30 am on Tuesday morning, and then several more times during the morning. So he missed his Valentine's party at preschool :( I asked a friend to pick up his valentines to deliver to preschool, since they were all ready to go. And she dropped off his valentines afterward at our house. Marshall was very excited to see all of the fun valentines and to think about all the candy (he was feeling better by then).

Then today we went to the best playgroup of the year - the Valentine's/Cafe Rio party at Eliza's house. The food was delicious and the kids had a lot of fun playing and watching Dora. Neither Marshall or Hannah had a lot to eat, but I definitely enjoyed my delicious chicken Cafe Rio salad with a homemade tortilla. Yum! We handed out valentines and Marshall collected some (I didn't put out a bag or make any for Hannah - she already has enough of a sweet tooth without me encouraging her more).

Marshall had a melt down when it was time to go and had to be carried out to the car without his coat. So we haven't gone through the valentines yet. He calmed down after I unbuckled him from his car seat and told him the could stay in the car as long as he needed to, but if he was still in the car crying when I read a story to Hannah, he would miss out on the story. He came in shortly after that and was able to read it with us. He just loves Eliza's house and has a fit whenever we need to leave. It's nice to have a place to take him where I know he will be very happy - I just wish he wasn't so sad when he has to leave with me.

Anyway, Happy Valentine's Day!
