Great Wolf Lodge

For the past three years we've taken a two-day, one-night trip to a waterpark in February or March. It's been a nice break and a great chance to be in 80-degree weather. This year, like last year, we went to Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara Falls, Canada. It's only about a 30-minute drive and it's a very nice facility. This year wasn't quite as crowded as last year, and the kids were a little older and enjoyed it a lot. This is the note that Spencer left for the cleaning crew:

"From Spencer. We love your hotel. Love Spencer."

So cute. He had such a fun time. And honestly all of the kids had a lot of fun and were so good. Hannah missed her nap the first day except for a little snooze in the car on the way up, and she was so good and such a trooper. She just walked around all day and splashed. We were able to go on a big familiy slide a few times, and she liked that. Spencer could do a lot more of the slides, and some by himself. Peter and I switch off taking him on the rides that he needed a chaperone for. We all had a fun time. It was hard to get pictures with my camera at the waterpark, so I didn't get very many.

But here's one of this bathing beauty:

And my other bathing cuties:

Marshall really wanted to go across these "lilypads" to the other side. So Peter got in and helped them. They both did great. I don't have a picture of it, but Marshall just full-on jumped from the side onto the first leaf before Peter could get over there to help him. No fear. Luckily he was OK.

Every night they do a little show and storytime with all of the families. As I write this a couple months later, I just realized that all three of the kids tonight are wearing the exact same pairs of pajamas as they are in this picture. Too funny.

We all slept well that night, then had a breakfast of cereal and muffins that we brought from home. There is a mini-fridge in the hotel, and we learned last year that the breakfast buffet is super expensive and the kids didn't eat much anyway. This was a much better way to do it.

We were there when the water park opened around 9, and then stayed until a little after noon. We toook a snack break mid-morning.

We stopped by McDonald's on our way home. We had a great time. I think it's a fabulous yearly tradition. It's close, fairly inexpensive, and something that they whole family really enjoys. And it helped so much that the kids were so cooperative and good. They never really threw fits or were very grympy. Thanks, guys! We'll do it again next year.
