We stopped at Thanksgiving Point on our last day. Spencer has been very into dinosaurs lately and I thought that he would really enjoy the dinosaur museum they have there. They also have a petting zoo and pony rides. Luckily, we got into everything for free because of our Buffalo Museum of Science pass. Which was awesome, because what we did there would have cost about $70. Well, actually we wouldn't have done any of it probably because of the cost. So it was nice to be able to go for free.
The kids loved the pony rides:
And they loved seeing the goats, chickens, peacocks, etc.
After enduring the heat of the barnyard and feeding Emma in the "milking" section of the education center (it seemed ironic to me, although no one else seemed to notice), we headed to the dinosaur museum. It was amazing. It was almost hard to take it all in, since we only have 3-4 dinosaur skeletons at our Buffalo museum, and there were hundreds here.
And Spencer loves Megalodons, the ancestor to the great white shark. He's read about them and there is a model at the Niagara Falls Aquarium that we've also seen.
There was also an "erosion table" where they got to play with sand, water, and little plastic dinosaurs. They loved that part.
And there was a dinosaur dig part, where you could try to uncover recreated dinosaur fossils.
Overall, they loved it and were sad when it was time to go. And, as usual, Emma was a good sport.
She is a sweetheart and (almost) always so patient, even though she gets dragged all over the place. Sometimes I feel like we should find something just for her to do, but I'm not sure what that would be. But I guess the other kids have been patient, too, with how much longer it takes to go everywhere with their new little sister, so it evens out.
