Explore and More with the Cousins

I took the whole group to Explore and More on Monday. It was also April Fools' Day (which I didn't remind the kids of because last yearmy kids just kept lying to me and then saying "April Fools!" - I didn't like it) and Dyngus Day - a traditional Polish holiday. The museum was having Polish activities in honor of Dyngus Day, including palm weaving, coloring, tasting of some traditional Polish foods (Spencer LOVED the kielbasa) and dancers. They had a great time and were very good, overall. We spent a lot longer there than I anticipated, but I figured since they were well-behaved, occupied, and happy, we should just go with it.

Adam and Marshall really enjoyed the ball-related activities.

They all enjoyed the craft room, although Hannah was ready to go before the others. It's hard to be the youngest in a room like that.

Spencer did a great job with the palm weaving. This man was very nice and had some pretty impressive designs!

They spent A LOT of time coloring these pictures of Polish dolls. I finally had to call it because I was getting so hungry for lunch. They probably spent about 45 minutes coloring these pictures.

Here they all are playing with the windmill.

We finished thee day watching the Polish dancers. The dancing wasn't great, but it was a good chance for the group to perform. Marshall cozied up to some random lady in a pink hoody for the performance. She was very nice to let him lean against her - I don't think I would have been that patient with someone else's kid.

At the end the dancers let the kids in the audience join in. You can see Hannah and (part of) Jane in this picture.
And here are Spencer, Adam, and Marshall (Marshall's on the far side of the room).
