Emma and I came home on May 2 - just about 36 hours after she was born. Since she was born at about 11 pm on Tuesday, that counted as 1 day and we came home on Thursday. It was a little quick, but I guess I was ready. Peter took the week off and has been so helpful taking care of us, the house, and the kids, so I can just focus on me and Emma.
Here are some pictures from that last day in the hospital.
As Peter was walking to the car with the final load and to pull around to the front to pick me up, he saw a car with this license plate pulling in:
We had just finalized the name that morning, and felt that it must be a sign that we did something right. Peter flagged the lady down who was driving and told her we just named our daughter Emma Rose. She said her daughter was named that - she was an only child. She said, "Get out!" and thought it was a funny coincidence. What are the chances?
Congratulations! We are so happy for your family! I cannot believe you saw that on the license plate. What a story!!!! What are the chances? :)
