After church, we had sandwiches and then everyone laid down for naps. Marshall put up a big fight, but finally surrendered to the inevitable and fell asleep. Spencer was the only one who didn't take a nap.
Peter made a delicious dinner for me - chicken parmesan, roasted asparagus, and French bread with bruschetta. It was very good and I was impressed that he did it all on his own. He also made strawberry shortcake for dessert. Yummy!
The present was a series of dates with each of the kids and with him. It was very sweet. Here's the note:
Dear Mom,
We thought what better way gift to give you for Mother’s Day
than time with each of us. So, one of us
is going to take you on a special date each of the next 5 weeks. Here’s what you have to look forward to:
May 18th
Emma - take a
break from the hectic daily schedule with a quiet afternoon at home. You and your littlest will enjoy peace and
quiet as you play Sleeping Beauty.
Week of May 19th
Spencer – a fun evening putting around
the greens at Adventure Landing mini-golf course followed by a sweet frosty treat
at Wendy’s.
Week of May 26th
Marshall – get
your game on for hot competition in a bowling showdown at Transit Lanes then
cool things down with a summer blizzard at Dairy Queen.
June 8th
Hannah – pick up some grub at Fire
House Subs and then on to Garrison Park for an afternoon play date with your
little banana.
June 15th
Peter (and Emma) –
dinner at a place of your choice followed by a movie back at home.
I'm a lucky Momma and I'm so grateful for my sweet husband and kids. It was a great day.
Oh - I guess I can add one picture. We sent both of our moms this cute print of the kids that we made them for Mother's Day.
