On Saturday we ran in the Susan G. Komen 5K that was held in Delaware Park. It's the 3rd year in a row that we've done it, although last year we only really walked part of it, since I was about 8 months pregnant with Hannah. Peter was sweet and handled all 3 kids for me so that I could really run it. I've been running about 3 miles almost every morning, so I wanted to see how fast I could do it. Well, I ended up finishing it in about 27:10, which is More than a minute better than my previous best time. I was so happy, but very tired. I feel like I pushed myself, and I really don't think I could have done much more, but I guess that's a good thing. We ran with some other people in our ward, including one who is herself a breast cancer survivor. We were proud to be a part of it with her, and also ran in honor of Peter's mom, a breast cancer survivor, as well.
After the race we went home and got cleaned up. A neighbor girl came over to watch the kids and Peter and I went to tour the Darwin Martin house, which was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. They are doing a lot of restoration work on it, but it was very impressive. They have rebuilt 3 of the structures on the complex, and the main house still has a lot to be done. It was fun to have a date with Peter and get out without the kids.
